Andy Timbrell BSc (Hons) MRICS - Managing Director
Prior to establishing DBA Estates Limited in 2009, Andy held various senior positions in the house building industry, most notably as Land Director for Westbury Homes in the West Midlands. This was one of the largest regional businesses in the Westbury Group selling circa 650 new homes per year.
Andy is a Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years of experience in land acquisition, development and estate management. He was responsible for securing a significant land bank for Westbury over a period of 6 years, including important reclamation and regeneration projects. Whilst employed with Hanson PLC, Tarmac and Redland Lafarge, Andy was responsible for the estate management of a significant property portfolio of quarries, landfills and other associated uses, including land acquisition and land sales, planning, licensing and environmental management.
Due to his varied experience, Andy has become successful at advising landowners and developers on the commercial aspects of land appraisal, planning and maximising the development value from land. As a Chartered Surveyor with developer experience, Andy can act on a client’s behalf as Expert Witness at Planning Inquiries and has done so successfully on several occasions.
John Preston BA (Hons) - Planning and Development Manager
Prior to joining DBA Estates Limited, John’s previous career spanned NHS Estates, English Partnerships and the Homes and Communities Agency, where he was responsible for managing the planning and disposal of a wide range of surplus land and property.
With over 25 years’ experience, John has a strong residential background and an extensive knowledge of the planning system which he utilises in assisting clients to secure planning permission for development. He is able to assist with planning site appraisals, advise on development opportunities, and in the submission and management of planning applications and appeals.
Trevor Marshall BSc (Hons) - Construction Manager
Trevor entered the construction industry as a site manager in 2007 and joined DBA Estates in 2022 having previously worked for two local companies overseeing works on sites in both the public and private sectors. Trevor has experience in managing sites in a multitude of environments ranging from hospitals and schools to car showroom refurbishments and housing developments, one of which was awarded winner of the Best New Home category in the Midlands Region by the Federation of Master Builders.
Trevor enjoys taking an active role in site management and values working in co-operation with subcontractors and tradespeople on site to ensure that work is undertaken with minimal issues and to the highest of standards.
